A CAUTIONARY TALE: MARCO RUBIO
His name might be familiar for a lot of people, and not exactly for positive reasons. The son of Cuban immigrants, he nontheless upholds a fiercely anti-immigration rhetoric. He proudly stands by the American flag and sings The Star-Spangled Banner with a hand on his heart, while forgetting about his Cuban roots. The very same Cuban roots who'd denounce him if they saw what he'd become. But let me ask the question everyone wants to know: who is he and what is his story?
Marco Rubio was born in Miami (the usual suspect) on May 28, 1971. I find it important to mention that as someone who's also a Gemini, we do NOT claim him. His parents were Cuban immigrants, who came to the US in 1956. Interesting, right? Because in 1956, Batista was in power, not Fidel Castro. Rubio later made a statement to "clarify" the situation, but like everything else he stands for, it was of no substance. According to him, it was his grandfather, Pedro Victor Garcia, who indoctrinated him to conservative values. The very same grandfather who returned to Cuba in 1959 to find work. But Garcia decided that Fidel's Cuba wasn't good enough for him, so he fled Cuba and returned to the US without a visa. It is very important to highlight that he was detained as an undocumented immigrant and a judge ordered him to be deported. Ten years later, when Rubio was born, his parents were also undocumented.
This is the man who's rallying for the change of the US Constitution, making it a requirement that beyond being born on US soil, both parents must be US citizens as well. Just imagine how ironic it would be if someone called ICE on Marco Rubio as a result.
Marco Rubio is a weak, pathetic little man who sold his soul for political gain, but got nothing in return. Sure, he's the current Secretary of State, the first Latino to hold this position in the history of the US, but I struggle to rule this as an achievement. His children don't speak Spanish, despite his wife also being Latin-American (Colombian, to be exact). The perfect example of a whitewashed Latin-American diaspora family, not even teaching their children about their roots. He used to be among Trump's harshest and loudest critics, despite being Republican. When he ran against him in 2016 as a rival for the Presidential Election, he called Trump names, swearing he'd never stand beside him. But look at him now. He can't even keep his word. He became Trump's little lapdog in an environment that will never view him as an equal, no matter how hard he tries. This is proven in the recent video where he asked for permission from Trump to address journalists in his native language of Spanish. If he can't stand up for himself, what makes anyone think he can stand up for his community? And I am not referring to the gusanos when I speak of his community.
The whole world is laughing at you, Marco. You think you're great and fair, but you fail to recognise that everything you stand for would've never gotten you where you are right now. Imagine it was your parents who got detained; separated and clueless on what happens to them and their family going forward. Imagine the fear of all those children who are on their own now, without a legal attorney or their parents. Imagine going to sleep afraid of ICE banging on your door and taking your father away in handcuffs after beating him. How would you have felt?
"But they came here legally!" That's bullshit. Coming to the US legally was literally the easiest thing to do until the elites decided everything was the immigrants' fault. Immigrants become a convenient scapegoat: how dare anyone assume that it is the billionaire's fault? Marco, if you had a heart that wasn't rotten, I'd strongly advise you to try basic human empathy, but I'm well aware that this concept is unknown to you and the other monsters in power. You're advocating for policies that tear families apart, failing to consider that it could've been you. I wish for you to find a spine and stand up to your boss and stop licking his books every given chance, but deep down I know you won't. Why would you? You're comfortable, rich, have a nice, perfect family and a stable position. You wouldn't trade it for a clear conscience. But let me tell you this one thing: it will all catch up to you one day, and it will not spare you. Sooner or later, karma reaches everyone. I hope it will be painful and strip you of everything you've built. You and all the others will crumble one day.
Gusanos love to uplift you, being proud you taught them in university, and they're not better than you. You were given a platform and you use it, encouraging other worms to raise their (incorrect) voices. People like you who preach nonsense are the reason why gusanos still exist, demonising the left without a second thought. All this and for what? Political gain? More money? You're embarrassing yourself day after day. Your own cabinet is laughing at you and pity you. "Poor Marco, he thinks he's on our level". They will never view you as an equal. Betraying your Cuban roots for a clap on the back from a man who you ran against? Very rewarding. All this and all for nothing. But now it's too late. How can you look in the mirror? How can you pray every night? How can you kiss your wife and your children every day? How are you not ashamed of yourself?
